It is with pride, dedication, and professionalism that members of Orange County Fire Rescue Department (OCFRD) serve the citizens of Orange County. Thus, the recruitment and training of motivated and physically fit individuals possessing these qualities is an on-going commitment of the Training and Recruitment Division.

In order to meet the personnel needs of our growing department and to introduce the fire service as a career to segments of our community that traditionally has not been part of our candidate pool, OCFRD has established programs to support our recruitment effort. These programs are:

Fire Training

Along with the opportunity to make a difference within the community, Orange County Fire Rescue Department offers career stability and the growth potential you can depend on. For example, the base salary of a 56 hr per week firefighter is $39,099.00 per year.  If you possess a current certified paramedic certification in the state of Florida, you can receive an additional $ 5577.00 per year incentive pay.

A 56 hr per week firefighter's work assignment consist of working one 24 hr tour of duty and off duty for 48 hrs, this equates working only 10 days per month or 120 days per year.
